| Slate Jerusalem Stone Limestone Marble Travertine Terracotta Wood Mosaics Applestone Porcelain
Exterior Stone Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock, which means it has been formed within the layers of the earth due to extreme pressure and heat. Slate has become increasingly popular in homes due to its durability and variety of colours. We offer slate tiles in a range of sizes, shades and finishes and can be cut to the size or shape of your choice. All of our Brazilian slate is calibrated. The same slate can be used in the most modern Kitchen alongside granite worktops and chrome appliances or in a country cottage. Rustic varieties have wonderfully unique rich tones and black slate can be cool and crisp. Some honed, smooth slates come with an element of quartzite giving them a glistening metallic effect. We have a range of no maintenance furniture, tables and benches can be left outside in any weather conditions all year round. back to top
The hallowed tradition and unparalleled beauty of Jerusalem Stone is well-known throughout the world. Since biblical times, Jerusalem Stone has been used for its durability and distinctive look. In fact, to this day the City of Jerusalem requires the use of Jerusalem Stone on all buildings in order to preserve the unique character of the city. Formed over millions of years, Limestone is a sedimentary rock made up largely of seashells. Limestone has become extremely popular due to its variety of neutral and earthy tones. Pure limestone is almost white; but impurities, such as clay and sand result in a spectrum of colours from pure creamy white to black. The most commonly used finish of limestone is "honed" which provides a smooth, clean and contemporary finish used in many modern style dwellings, whereas a textured finish offers more depth and character. back to top Marble is also a metamorphic rock formed due to intense heat and pressure being applied to Limestone. Marble is timeless and classic stone and known for its vast variety of colours from white right through to black and is characterised too by its naturally occurring veining and shade variations. Predominantly found in a polished form, but nowadays marble is available (like other stones) in various finishes, such as honed, aged and tumbled. Each one provides a different charm from rustic to smooth and contemporary. Available in an array of colours and in a selection of tile sizes to achieve just the right style. Travertine tiles are a very dense form of Calcium Carbonate, a crystallised form of Limestone. Travertine in it's natural state has many holes and pits, caused by gases present when the rock was in the molten state. These voids appear as holes in the tiles and are either pre-filled with a resin during the fixing process or at the factory . They can then be honed (mechanically smoothed) to provide an even, matt surface texture or left unfilled for an antique, more rustic appearance. Travertine tiles have been used since Roman times as a building material. Their unique qualities as a flooring material have been used for many domestic and commercial applications All of our travertine tiles are of premium quality and available in a range of sizes to be used on walls and floors. (Tiles thicker than 12mm should not be used on walls). Terracotta is made from specially prepared clay which is moulded and fired to produce warm, practical flooring for almost any room in the house. Historically terracotta was used to floor monasteries and churches, many of which are still intact, a testament as if it were needed to this material's extraordinary longevity.
In keeping with natural flooring we supply and fit high quality solid wood and engineered hardwood flooring. Mosaic tiles are the perfect choice for bathrooms, swimming pools and wet areas, due to their unique qualities, huge colour range and ease of fixing onto a wide range of surfaces and contours. They are functional hygienic and easy to clean. Marble Mosaics are small tumbled marble tiles mounted on a mesh backing. They can either be polished or "tumbled" to give a softer aged effect As with all natural materials Tumbled Marble Mosaics will vary in shade and appearance. Applestone is a harder limestone with a classical creamy soft colour with subtle smokey veining. Available in a polished or honed finish and as a straight or chiselled edge. Porcelain tiles are a higher grade of ceramic tiles. They are virtually non absorbent and are extremely hard and durable. Porcelain tiles can be used indoors and outdoors, including high traffic areas. Given their very low water absorption rate and frost-resistance, they can be used in outdoor swimming pools (unlike ceramic tiles). Porcelain tiles are made from a finer type of clay and are fired at a higher temperature. The result is a highly durable tile with an impervious water absorption rating. The idea of your home continuing on into your garden or outside space is increasing the populartiy of exterior natural stones. We have a variety of exterior stones including limestone, travertine and slate which are all appropriate for outdoor areas such as gardens, driveways, pathways, swimming pools and roof gardens. We can also supply bespoke garden chairs, tables & benches to enhance any garden.
